Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • New Wheels

    Hi All,

Thought i would share some pics of my new wheels. I decided to upgrade my stock Claxxis 17s to a set of Fox 18s. So far I am very happy with the new rims. I have noticed a slight increase in road noise, and i have lost about 10% in ride comfort but handling has improved; so overall am very pleased.

Since going to the low profiles though i seem to have exaggerated the gap between wheel and wheel arches so next up is a set of Eibach springs to bring the ride hide down. Hopefully this can be done without sacrificing much more 'comfort', and after speaking to other members with Eibachs i am confident.

The rims themselves look good, and the shadow chrome is the perfect colour with my graphite blue. They are similar to the Charlestons but different.

Thanks also to 'Buckets' for giving my Claxxis a new home.

Are these the ones from Tempe Tyres? What rubber did they come with and how much?

Did they come with the VW caps as well?

      Looks good

          1. Yes, cant fault the service or price
          2. Kumho's (which will do until i wear thru em'. Then going back to Pirelli 's)
          3. $1400s incl shipping, insurance etc
          4. Had to have them made, basically just a sticker that fits the cap size. Was included in the above cost and done by Tempe for me.
          5. Thanks
