Is it just me or does the MY09 2.0T seem to get a bigger performance increase from a tune than an equivalent MY08. I've been back to back on both and my MY09 is much quicker than the 08.
MY09 still runs the BWA engine (same since the MY06' model) - the software part number is different, but the files are very similar, so the results should be identical. The MY09 does include all the recalls though (fuel pressure sender & checksum fix), but possibly the other one you drove had a few more miles on it & may be down a little on boost?

Yep. Thats probably the logical answer. Hand timed runs are noticeably quicker on the new one though. Or maybe I just flog the crap out of my car and not the other one
Didnt the MY09 GTI have the TSI engine and not the FSI? I've read there are some internal improvements to the engine but the output is basically the same in stock trim. once flashed it sounds like its a different story though...
The new TSI engine wont make it to our MKV's - it has made it to some Jetta's already (MY09'), but it will be standard across the board with the MKVI.
You can tell the new engine by the engine codes, the new ones have a 4 digit engine code starting with "C" (like CCTA)- the old ones have 3 digit (AXX, BWA, etc)
