Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Jetta Audio system

How good is the sound system in the new Jetta!

Drove it home from work tonight and sat in the driveway fiddling with it. Awesome sound for a standard system.

I've got the premium sound system option in my Ford Pursuit ute but this thing makes it sound very ordinary in comparison.

    Well done VW

It'll be interesting to see how the iPod interface works out when i get it.

I've spent about an hour so far looking at all the knobs and whistles on this car and I'm finding lots of neat little features to it.

    Cheers

    Michael

      Stereo

Got to agree with you about the stereo. It's the best of the factory-fitted by far. My Pug had a Eurovox and that was pretty good but I reckon you have to go expensively after market to better the one in the Golf.

I put Pink Floyd ...double CD live on mine and cranked it up while I was driving through the winding and twisting roads of the Conondales (behind Maleny)..........you have gotto do that..even the bride thought it was good.

Bugger!!! Stop it! My GTI is away having a minor repair done on it and I am driving a mk1 cabrio which at the moment doesn't have a radio in it! So I am missing the Cranberries or whatever on the excellent system in the GTI. 10 speakers.
At least the weather has been cabrio weather here. The daughter (on her L's) took the dogs and myself to the beach tonight with the top down.
