  • Golf 5 Sat Nav

    Hi All -

I've got a GTI coming with sat nav, and rear parking sensors.

Does anybody know whether the sat nav screen and the parkers integrate with one another? In other words, do you get some sort of visual warning and/or visual display of remaining distance behind on the sat nav screen?

    Thanks guys.

    It doesn't.

If you change your parktronic unit to a skoda octavia or passat CC one (which probably also requires a rev R or rev S CAN gateway module) you can.

If you want part numbers, check the vwnavi forums (vwnavi.com). There is a very long thread there on parking display on RNS 510. Clicky

Expect to pay around $400 for a parktronic module and maybe $200 for a new CAN gateway. You'll also need some way to code it (VCDS or equivalent). You may also need to do some wiring as the new parktronic modules cun on the engine CAN bus, not the comfort CAN bus.

Bottom line - Not as default. What you need to make it work depends on what you have got.

Edit: kufatec now has a kit - 499euros Clicky
