Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. How does Pirelli compare to R32?
Thats the question i get all the time, so i'll answer it as best i can.

The Short version is the R32 is a better car by far, its more refined and it has more of a classy cruiser feel. Its braking is better and cornering too. I got Rear ended in my R32 and it just never felt right after that so i sold it. I guess i bought the Pirelli for 2 reasons.

            1. I missed Forced induction. I love turbo cars, and the R32 just never quite gave me that rush a turbo car can.
            2. I wanted a change, i considered a Candy White 3dr R32 instead of this but i just wanted something different.

The Pirelli shouldn't be discounted but, Its heaps quicker than the R32 in the straight line, i haven't even given it full stick and it pulls HARD off the line. With the APR flash and dogbone insert plus eibach suspension i would say that given the Pirelli's some 120kg weight advantage of the R32, this car will even compete with the likes of STI and EVO. The Mk6 Generation of golf GTI and R variants will have big shoes to fill after VW see its Mk5 generation out with this ball tearer.

The APR Flash will bring figures to 229kw and 435nm that my friends put a big fat on my face.

Finally the R32 is a better car. No Question. But I'm in love with my Pirelli, the back fire when you engage DSG, the interior and the Wheels. It will smoke a
R32 off the line and all the way to 400m no problemo!! But speed doesn't make a car better than another... Or does it?????

awesome!!! Congrats on a great choice and an awesome car.
Mate, i am actually thinking about trading in my 2006 GTI for the same spec pirelli as yours, do you mind me asking how much you paid...

THe dealer told me very little discounts when it first came out but considering the economy is ****e and no one is buying cars at the moment i thought i may get a better deal.

              Thanks and congrats again!!

Congrats on the new ride mate. Regarding the upgrade and increase in torque. I remember reading something in a recent thread about the DSG having problems coping with torque output over 400 kw, don't know if that was just with the particular chip used or just the way things are with what the DSG will handle. Just thought it was worth a mention, hopefully it won't be an issue, especially where warranty is concerned. Enjoy !!

Why dont you drive it for a few weeks before you change anything? Are they not OK in its standard form?
