  • Ignition key hole light?

Does the Mark V Golf have a illuminated ignition key hole? I can see my feet with the footwell lights but doesn't seem to be a light to find the ignition keyhole.

Yeh no light which is a shame but the dimming interior light typically gives enough light to get the key in the hole without too many issues so its not a huge issue I don't think.

Would work better in a left hand drive configuration, though, wouldn't it?

Still to go to such lengths as to put fancy red pin lights in the overhead console that illuminate the lower central panel and not illuminate a keyhole is a bit of an oversight.

          I doubt its an oversight.

          Its just cost cutting.

Like the useless bluetooth button on the steering wheel.

You can bet a team of accountants spent a couple of hours deciding whether it was worth putting one in or not.

              Rubbish.

VWs are for precision drivers. Those of us who know exactly where the hole is, especially at night.

I have no trouble getting it in every time, and I'm 57.

I'm guessing he's referring to the button that looks like a phone on the left hand side of the wheel controls

But that's the hardwired car kit cradle button? I guess he's confused and doesn't have the proper VW/Skoda bluetooth.

My dealer installed some parrot kit in mine and the steering wheel button works...

With MS Voice Command on my phone it does all sorts of boring things.

This is soo far off topic thanks to a few that its ridiculous.
There are other forums that speciallise on going off topic continually, seeing that you have decided to attack the mods, I reckon that you might like to go to one of those other argumentative forums thanks.

No, the Mk5 doesnt have a light for the ignition switch. Neither do a lot of other cars.
I would imagine the Audi R8 does as you pay for it bigtime.
I personally have never found it to be a problem.
