  • Where to buy VW accessories cheap?

    Hi All,

My new Jetta hasnt arrived yet and I am already thinking of things to buy

I have received an accessories price list from the dealer and as usual, a lot of the items are over priced.

Is there anywhere else you can get your VW accessories cheaper? I know with my Hondas, there were websites in the USA that would ship to Aus and the stuff worked out quite a bit cheaper.

Try looking for a wrecked car, there are plenty of written off Jettas, Golfs and Passats coming up at auction at the moment which get picked up by the wreckers...
Have a look around, in terms of "accessories" what did you have in mind specifically?

I am after accessories and not really parts.

Things like alloy pedals, boot liners, and other good stuff like that..

then just look for a well optioned car from a wrecker, and take all the parts from that, shouldn't cost too much either...

VWA must be close to discounting MK V accessories to make room for MK VI.

Get friendly with your local Dealer and you may benifit by getting discounts.

I received a discount from an accessory I bought without even asking. They knocked the price down from $35 to $29.60.

Like alot of places, if you are a good customer they will look after you.

I don't think there are a lot of places in Oz that sell the sort of accessories that you are looking for but here are few from o/s.

They won't discount old accessories, they don't keep huge stocks of them and they will be required for customers in the future. Demand for accessories doesn't just drop off because of a model change and people buy accessories later on when they buy a second hand car, when something wears out or just because they now have a requirement for a part.

If anything prices may go up because of lower demand. Some accessories will be the same on the new model as well for example the luggage net for the MK5 Golf is the same as the one for the MK6.

                Thanks for the links guys.

The TM Tuning site looks good.

With the low Aussie $ at the moment, the dealer prices are only a little higher. I might have to get it from them. Hopefully the $$ goes up soon.

You can always negotiate with the dealer especially if you're buying a few parts. Even the spare parts counter may do a better price, shop around a few spare parts counters and see what they can do.

Your time must be worth something poster? Why bother wasting all this time shopping for a boot liner. Just pay the price and move on. Good choice of car though.

Trust me, I am not trying to save a buck or two on a boot liner.

I just wanted to know if there were other places you could get your VW accessories from. A few posters have provided some links which is great.

Its not always about the price however if I can save a few $$ and support small business as well, then why not?

There are also items that you cant get from a local dealer.
