Hey Neil,
Had the same problem with mine. Bought an LED strip off eBay, put a couple of pin type connectors on the tails which I then pressed into the existing light and used magnets to secure the strip under the parcel shelf.
Will get some pics of it today and post this evening for your viewing pleasure! Works just fine and leaves the OEM light in situ for the partitioned storage area.
