  • Blister in sidewall

    Hi,

Just bought an '05 GTI and noticed a blister in the sidewall on the right rear. It has Regal's on it, must be cheapies cause there isn't any info about them, other than they're made my Dunlop in South Africa.

Any ideas who distirubtes them in Aus or where i would go to get it replaced?

    thanks.

    George.

"Normally" a sidewall blister is 99% caused by impact damage, ie: curb, pothole, rock on road etc.

Have a good look at it for a scuff mark or a telltale where rim protector strip has been pushed against edge of rim and left a shiny mark.

If they are worn may be an idea to change the rear pair with something similar.?

      Thanks Bazzle,

Was thinking it could be a manufacturing fault? Cause I can't cant really see an impact anywhere. Anyway a good excuse to fit some decent tyres

And very often it is manufacturing fault. Take it to the tyre place for check up and if it is faulty it should be replaced under the warranty as long as it is leagal.

Normally the case with tread bubbles, rarely with sidewalls in my experiences with tyres, good luck any way hope it is..
