  • Does anyone have a manual Jetta TFSI?

    Hey Guys,
Thinking about getting an 06-07 Jetta TFSI at some time next year. I've been looking on carsales etc and haven't seen one single manual version! Are they really that rare?

    Cheers
    Simon

Found this in the trading post but it's in W.A. There's a few 6 speed manuals in diesel but could only find 1 in petrol.

I've seen a few NA manuals but not one in turbo, maybe I'll just have to get a GTI? Really wanted a boot tho . Guess I still have plenty of time but may have to buy a brand newby.

Sorry about that I didn't notice that it was a N/A engine I was too busy concentrating on the manual transmission !!

How about a Skoda - you get the hatch or boot, and the 2.0T engine with manual trans.

I did look at them but can't get my head around those seats and that interior, definitely not a fan, apologies to Skoda lovers

Guess I'll just have to tell the missus we need to get a brand new TFSI so we can get a manual

Unless I am wrong (which I often am according to wife)

The Jetta TFSI only came in DSG No manual.
My neighbour was going to get one but when no manual went for something else.

I think you're right i just had a look on the VW website and it only gives specs for the DSG. That sux! Looks like a GTI then

Looks to be only DSG on the TFSI model according to VW specs.

The GTI would be a fair option for you, at least you have a choice of transmissions and the boot space isn't all that bad for a hatch. With the sheer numbers on the road VW must have done something right with them, I have the GT TDI and I absolutely love it.

Don't dismiss the DSG until you have driven it though. If you have all good. But I'm manual all the way, but I love my Jetta!

I've driven the DSG in a Passat, it was ok but I'd miss having a clutch Maybe I should reconsider that V6 Bora supercharging project ........hmmm........$$$$$........maybe not LOL.

I beleive the Jetta 1.4 TSI is coming SOON.
It will be the first VW product with the 7 speed DSG,and WILL be available as a 6 speed manual also.
I would consider that as a strong option.

Jetta turbo only in DSG. it was the deciding factor in whether i bought one or not... prefer manuals and was disappointed that manual was not an option for it. Didn't want a diesel either so had no choice but to get the dsg.

I take it you were looking at a vRS? It's a bit '70s Capri isn't it.
Did you look at the 1.8TSI Elegance? BAsic charcol or very impressive (but child unfriendly) Ivory. Has reasonable power unless you are inclined to hammer it everywhere.
