[what size tyres are you currently running? I presume a 225/35/19?

Load rating of 92Y seems very high for a small car

i guess the 19" effects the load rating

surely the width is an equally important factor

look at the older golfs, wheel geeks, and see all the different combinations you can have.

also each manufacturer is different. so a recommmended 235/40 of brand x may be suitable, but not brand y...

          I'm running KU31's in a 235/35/19 91Y
Apparently there is a KU36 coming very soon which is meant to be super sticky and has great reviews O/S.
The KU31's are a great alrounder too. I'm considering ordering another set for the 135 when it arrives.

I told my insurer, no problem at all. They'll even replace them for the full value. Go with AAMI they rock, cheap too
          Cheers,

When i get my 19s im going to go with 235/35s as i issues on Liberty with Load Ratings and the police. I thought i had a completely legal car, but the police picked me up on that. I was very lucky to be let off, im suprised he did considering he asked to see the tyre placard.

                  ive ALSO got kumho ku31s

                  235/35 R19s

cheap tyre at 230 each if youre in melb and get them shipped from sydney.

                  some faults though are that,
                  1. 19s will make your steering heavier
                  2. you will oversteer A LOT
                  3. you have less wheel spin if youre flashed
                  4. the car feels faster because there is a bigger wheel base
                  5. kumhos are shocking in the cold, esp 5 degrees, so warm them up before you thrash them. MUCH less noisier than Contis.
                  6. you will get the wheels sticking out. looks good though IMO
                  7. gutters and pot holes will be your worse enemy.
                  8. the tyre has cracks from wear after 10,000kms from its hard silica compound.
                  9. Enjoy them.

im actually considering going back to stocks for some of the reasons above. ive also already got a puncture on 19s and there goes another 250 bux.

I have a different opinion. God don't you love public forums

                        1. my car feels the same if not better than std. This will depend on the wheels and more to the point weight of them. Also what pressure are you running? You should run them around 40psi. I also have a ProKit which makes a big difference.
                        2. kind of agree, goes with #5, not sure about 5deg and it sounds like you need an alignment. I have never had the tail out.
                        3. anything is better than std
                        4. don't know about faster, but yes the rolling diametre is bigger. Speedo will be out slightly. Do what everyone else has done, get a nav system and read the speed off that.
                        5. read 2.
                        6. Mine don't stick out, all depends on offset
                        7. yes small sidewalls will transfer more road feel, but once you have driven a car with expensive wheels it comes force of nature to miss the potholes.
                        8. I have 11500k's on mine and they are in excellent condition. No cracks or uneven wear. I rotated at 7500 with the first service. If i don't get 30+k's out of these i will be amazed.
                        9. Yay something we agree on

The crux of this is, if you do consider the Kumho's you will not be dissapointed, they are worth twice the price.
Like i said before these are in high contention of being on my BMW 135 when it arrives & with a retune they are getting 240rwkw+ out of them.
