  • R32 license plate bracket

hey every 1 i was looking at some pictures of other r32's n noticed that they didnt have this big plastic ugly looking number plate holder, and this is my attempt to remove it.

    Afta

let me no what you think, and just wondering if any 1 knows how to fill in or what to do with the holes in which the bracket used to originally sit in

Well...That what they use in Europe so in my opinion , u better leave it as it is...Leaving those holes uncovered just lets dirty water, bugs and other debris in...

hmm yeah but it came with some black fillers for it, so probably worth putting them in, also behind the grill there, it is just a large foam core i noticed when i took the bumper off

Or you could get some nice shiny euro style plates (assuming they're available in the Victoria).
Also don't do the offset numberplate. Aside from being a ricer mod not fit for a Euro hatch you might want to have a look at what's behind the vents down there. I know with the Australian MkIV Rs they have an additional radiator behind there for extra cooling due to our climate.

hahah yeah the euro plates do look good, also there is no 2nd radiator behind the grills on the sides it is sealed, but if you take it out it is just access to the bottom of the engine bay

Paint the black holder the same colour of the car, and replace it.

It looks like with the holes etc on the front.

If you want to get ride of the euro plate holder properly then replace the grill. This is what you need from your local dealer.

Yeah, im with them, it look slike something is missing, the Euro plates are designed to fit the euro plate holders, so will improve it a lot, and $700 is probably a lot cheaper than a new grille.

that's actually not a bad idea and probably cheaper than replacing grill/euro plate.

maybe try to colour match to the shiny silver grill as much as possible?

Why go to all that effort when it will just look crappy IMHO?

If he doesn't want to replace the grill then get a body shop to fill the four holes and respray the grill the same colour. Shouldn't cost more then a few hundred dollars and the car can still be driven without the grille so the car isn't off the road for the few days the grille is in being resprayed.

Epic bump. I have an ugly licence plate holder like in the OP, is there no other way of getting rid of it other than buying a new grill? Why the hell do they drill holes in the bumper!
