    This how I did mine. 2008 R32
Cut hose in left hand rear corner behind valance.
Added a new bit with a small ball in it (anything will do, screw etc)
    Used as an inline joiner
Can be removed and one joiner used to turn back to original.
    Doubt you ever will but

    Enjoy the exh note

it gives it a "rumble" down low.....a very nice deep burble <3000rpm. Slight drone...but nothing that is unpleasant.

Also...a very different way of doing the mod compared to mine.

                Terence,

Unfortunately, all I can really say is yank it a little harder. Mine came off with a moderate pull.

You really don't have to go to the effort of the OP with the flapper mod. I unplugged the hose from the flapper and sealed the hose on a "nipple" located inside the rear bumper (adjacent to the hose).

                Makes a difference. Me likey.

Plenty of clips available on youtube of the flapper mod sound.

I kept away from the "plastic" of the vac motor on the exh pipe. That is why I just cut the pipe at the side and blocked it.
                  Nothing looks changed.

Yellow... Ill do yours for you

I didn't think the flappers were actually activated in Australian models?

Otherwise you just pull the tube off and plug it same as mkIV's.

                            Got the flapper mod sorted!!

Unplugged hose from vacuum wastegate thingy and plugged it into one of the rivet/nibs.

Very happy with the result !!

                              Well done.

I also noticed a deeper burble on the over run.
