Hi guys, I'm currently looking at a second hand car. Does it worth to buy a 2007 VW Golf GTI V MY05 (3 doors) at $7800? The mileage is kind of high (190,000kms). I'm not sure if it is worth buying. What will be the service fees? I'm worrying about the maintenance fees. Please advice 🙏

You are right to be concerned about the maintenance fees. Golf GTI is a great car, 3 door, beautiful!
190,000 klms is not a lot for a car that has every little hassle taken care of, serviced like clockwork....
Problem is, the average general mechanic, in my experience, is not familiar with its tricky ways, despite heaps of info on the net.
Alternatively, VW dealers have a rep for not being cheap.
Do you know a mechanic that you can rely on? What does he think?

I would check its had its major services and service history.
Camchain, waterpump, dsg service are the big ones I can think of and aren't cheap. (cam chain is over 1k).
Like any other older or high mileage car things like bushes and shocks are probably worn out too.
I would try and find an independent vw shop to work on your car (opposed to vw direct) if you aren't handy with a spanner.

Agree with the above.
Sounds like my car 2007 3 door with 195k on the clock.
Reliable enough but burns oil.
I ‘fixed’ the odd oil leak with some cardboard in the garage haha
