Holy smoken Tow bars - are these things Gold Plated?

Maybe you can just get the wiring harness & then get a $300 aftermarket towbar?

Its cos of the fancy wiring system in your golf. you cant just splice wires into it and it remain happy.

I heard a non VW sourced one will void your warranty, worth finding out.

I just rang VW dealers for a price on a Tow Bar for my MkV GTi. $1,100.00 supply only or $1,500.00 installed. Are these things Gold plated?

The wiring harness for the tow bar is $579 on its own...

Any after market place I call doesn't do them... anyone found them cheaper anywhere? I can install my self, but $1,100.00 for a tow bar is crazy when I got a new one installed for $300 on my mazda 2 years ago.

Any ideas ?
