Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Well I'm no Blow off valve guru, but a great way to test for leaks is a soapy water solution, bubble solution, anything that will suds up if there's a leak. Perhaps some of that vinyl bubble solution from the toyshop, apply around the thread, give it a quick fang, and see if there's any bubbles around the seam. Beware that this stuff is basically PVC and will set quickly if the area is hot, so do it cold. Could make a mess.

    My 0.02 anyway...

the best way to tell is to have a quick drive i fitted the forge full vent to atomsphere and they told me was a quick drive and if it is leaking u will hear a strong loud hiss under boost when u accelerate and feel a loss of power. Hope that helps

        THANKS guys

was actually thinking about the soap and water teknik at work today so will give it a go in a few mins,
as for a hissing noise during boost i haven't noticed any of that.

        cheers for the advice
