Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • New Jetta

Just saw two new Jettas driving around. One black one we overtook on the motorway (F7) and another silver one we saw at Mt Annan Car Park in Campbelltown.

They look like a cross between a Passat and a Bora I think.

I am currently waiting for delivery of a new one that I ordered in February. They rang me last Monday and it is expected mid July. 2.0L TDI...was smitten on the test drive and I normally drive a Subaru Liberty.. the TDI absolutely leaves the Liberty for dead in all areas ...never thought I would say that either.

      The Diesel Realsation

Welcome! That's what everyvody says. Modern high-tech diesels make the best use of torque and you just can't beat it! If you get a manual you'll have to learn to drive it in order to get optimal fuel consupmtion and performance. Don't drive it like you do the Subi!

It's at the dealers getting all the pre deliveries done, also getting Diamond tint and paint protection. Spoke to dealer yesterday - said he could have sold it four times on the weekend..everyone that were in looking at cars wanted it...so nearly here...read the VW Magazine Australia, they have a review on the new Jetta.

              Congrats!

Dealer reckons mine should be ready by the last week of this month. Can't wait.

              Cheers

                  Congrats!

You'll be burning the midnight oil reading the owner's handbook I still haven't finished with mine. The needle will move...albeit veeeery slowly.

Luv that that(insert those) handbook....interesting to say the least. Very interesting re how to drive the diesels also...just get in start them up and drive them with the intent of warming the engine up as soon as possible...no revving etc.

Good advice re tyres and brakes and how to bed them in etc..
