Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

on acceleration in 2nd gear especially it randomly hesitates every now and again. Feels just like ESP kicking in, except mabye a bit more severe because you can hear a pop from the exhaust. Haven't been able to get it to do it with ESP off unfortunately so i don't know if it is ESP or not. Has done it on completely smooth flat road with both brisk acceleration and eveb gentle acceleration in D or manual mode. More prominent when its cold (i dont rev it over 3000rpm when cold...never rev any car hard when cold).

ANyone experienced anything similar? A little worried knowing the shady reliability of these things.

I have had exactly the same issue, generally only when driving in D mode and sedately - never happens when pushing it.

I have taken it to two different dealerships and both said they cannot work out (or even feel) the issue.

Not sure what it is, it is really annoying when it happens - I have given up on VW until I take it to Canberra and back to Lennocks where I bought it from. Given a good mate of mine is the dealer principal there, I am hoping he will tell the mechanics to have a very good look.

On another note, my DSG is out of calibration again and doing dumb gearchanges and making life really, really hard to get moving from a standstill when going up hills.
