Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Ipod adapter for R32

Hi guys I did a search but didnt find much info. Whats the best way of connecting an IPOD to an 08 R32 stereo? I'm using a Belkin FM transmitter in my other car, it's OK, but you get interference. Apparently you can get a VW adapter? Are they any good. From what I understand you can't see artist/track names can you?

Apparently the only product out there that displays text is the Dension gateway 500. Anyone used this before?

You can see the artist and track names if you buy the new MDI (Media Device Interface) from VW. Do a google on this and you'll see all the info on this. vwvortex and vwnavi have more info on them as well.

I just use the AUX in but then I listen to a downloaded radio show that goes for 5 hours so I don't have to fish around to change songs.
