They may be reluctant to do anything now if you get it fixed somewhere else, at least give them the opportunity to repair. Get VW to check the work afterwards as well if you're not comfortable with them now. Or work out a settlement with them.

Why is the car now at another third party garage? Why not let VW fix it, surely the difference in price isn't that much?? After the experience I'd be wanting to let someone like VW do the work!
Well i mad the decision that i want sebastian to do my work from now on thats why i took it to another garage. As for price it might be cheaper but i still prefer him to do my work it wont void my warranty man they wanted 47.50 a grommet what a joke. I have talked to the other workshop but it is work in progress getting anything out of them i just want it fixed

Is price why you took it to the other garage in the first place? How much are you saving based on what VW quoted you by taking it to this new place?

$52 from a dealer in Perth! So, instead I bought a few from ECS Tuning for $4 each. The freight adds on $65, but I bought a few bits and pieces to make it worthwhile.

I use a little dry lube when refitting the covers. They can be a bugger to get off though at times. In years to come they will be a fair bit brittle.
