forge diverter valve? never heard of it.. will be doing research on that though! thanks
The forge valve in itself doesn't vent to the atmosphere, but they also sell an adjustable spacer which you can put with it to make "the noise". I'm not sure if you can just buy the spacer and use it with the standard DV.
You can get them at a good price from parts4euro in the US, with free delivery to Australia. That's where I got mine from - took about a week to arrive.
Apologies, Alfy ... bad day. No ... I've got a Forge Diverter valve and the reason I bought it is because it's a billet aluminium unit and contains no plastic parts (unlike the EOM unit) ... so it was mainly for long-term reliability that I purchased it.
It doesn't vent into the atmo ... so there's no "Pshissssst" noise ... but I do feel it improves the overall engine note of the 1.8T engine. (I'll try to behave in future ... happy, Mischa? )
i fit just the forge spacer to my mk5 golf gti for noise it vents to atmosphere it doesnt upset the ecu because u still retain the stock diverter valve. I fit it myself it took about 15 minutes and all u need is some locktite and a 6mm allen key socket extension bar and ratchet very easy to install and i like the sound. But each to their own
Wonder what VW would think about it in regards to warranty problems?
DSG fart + light bov noise would be kinda cool. I do admit I love hearing a light whoosh from the front end and the fart from the rear when it goes to the next gear.

Yep, damn that noise - it's so addictive but you're always speeding at the end of them...
