rattle issue

Hi, I am getting this rattle from the back to my GTI. I empty out the boot had a drive and it was still there. I remember reading or saw it on a youtube video that this is a common thing has anyone had the same problem.

Ive had a mount for a tail light break and create an annoying rattle -

^^ I'd look at the tail lights. For me, it was the reverse light holder rattling inside its housing in the boot lid. I pushed a bunch of blu-tack into the gap between the holder and the housing - problem solved! A good (janky) way of finding the source of the rattle is to open up the boot and to just slap bits of the boot lid and light surrounds with your fist - see which bits rattle more than others, and start searching there.

I put it on the hoist a work and had a look underneath. And was unable to find it but i will have a look in the tail lights this weekend. I will report back.

Dont know about yours but Polos had a top strut bearing that was known to rattle Ours did it for 5 year s and then just stopped
