  • RNS510 Location Offset

I have noticed my RNS telling me to "turn left now" approx 50 m before I need to.

It hasn't really bothered me until yesterday.

    Warning: sorry non-Melbourne people.

I was sitting at the intersection of Flinders Lane and King St in Flinders Lane pointing west.

The RNS suggested that I was approx 50 - 100 m further west and suggested the appropriate route.

I have raed somewhere about "calibrating" the RNS but cannot find the page.

If it's not that then possibly the datums used by the map and GPS are different.

    Has anyone experienced the above.

Had a similar thing happen with our Garmin (portable) GPS....

I did a factory reset, and voila...we were back where we belonged.

Not sure where the "magic" button would be on a RNS...ask Maverick.

A simple reboot is worth a try:

At the same time whilst powered up hit (on the top next to the CD slot)

        "<" and ">" and "i"

This will do a simple reboot - see how you go from there!
