GTI Start Up

Hey guys, I have a bit of a concern..

When turning on the GTI it has a weird sort of sound, almost diesel like, but once cranked over it sounds normal... Its really starting to irritate me! Is it a common thing????? Should I be concerned?

its perfectly normal. They all sound like tractors on startup.
