Anybody using Rola Sport Racks on their mkv jetta? Curious about the front mount point, is this the threaded site at the top of the door jamb? Also how is the fit?

Yep the front one bolts to the threaded spot, but you don't HAVE to use that exact spot, the screw is an option really. I used it and it's nice to have the extra strength in the clamp. The rear bar is a fair bit narrower across, and the Rola kit is great, but the rubber feet don't sit perfectly in the rain gutters, but they never do as they are universal. It's pretty darn close. Little more noise on the highway, but nothing obtrustive, even with the kayak mount I have. Loads and my K1 kayak are very solid at speed.
I haven't seen anything near as good both VW genuine and other brands on VW's. Rola is the best option I know of.

Thanks for the reply. I'm in the US and had a set of Rolas on my MK4 (Jetta/ Bora) thought they were a great improvement over the oem racks, specifically, noise at speed. Thanks for posting the pictures. It would be great if Rola would modify the rubber foot to fit better but I'm going to order a set soon.Comment
