hi all, im just in the process of ordering a gruppe m intake for my gti (expensive i know but i couldnt help myself they just look so neat) and was wondering if anyone had any tips for removin the engine cover. It has to be the hardest thing on a gti to do. Any help would be appreciated. P.s when i get the intake it means i have no need for the bmc filter i have if anyone wants it just p.m me otherwise the garbage gets it cheers

I dont have a MKV Golf but on the Polo GTI its only one crew at the top (closest to the firewall) and then you simply pull the thing off. Its clipped in, I know it looks like its bolted down....
What type of BMC filter is it? A picture would help.

yeah the golf is a bit different i know how it comes off but just lookin for any tips or tricks people have found to make it a bit easier. The filter is a replacement for the genuine filter the bmc to buy is a little pricey but they come with lifetime warranty and never need to be replacedGood bye GTI Hello Golf R

best tip i ever had was to warm the engine up to operating temp first. It makes the rubber mounts nice and soft so it pops off easier.
I also usually start with the two passenger side ones as theyre not as easy to break. The front drivers side one is a bugger so u gotta be careful with that one especially!
