Just a question (another one).....I am ordering my own plates and wondering if there was a reason behind getting the 'standard' size plate for the back. I want slimline plates. I have noticed on here alot of cars have the standard size for the rear....is it so it fills up the gap?

In NSW if you are going the white background with black writing, there is a slimline plate which can only be used on the front of the car the other plate (larger plate) goes on the back (same goes with similar type plates).
Just read you don't live in Sydney.... Oh well for anyone who reads this and is in NSWsigpic

You want the Euro slimline plates. They fill the space better for Euro cars.
The standard ones dont look as good imo.
I have Euro style front and rear. With the front being smaller.

IMHO the slimline Euro plates are the ones that look stupid. You get the Euro plates so that they fit the cavity designed to for the Euro plates on the rear, and having the "normal" sized one at the front also looks so much better than a poxy looking slimline.
BTW you should be able to get Euro plates for less than $695 in VIC. That's the price only if you want custom. Wish I had the money to bid for the heritage plates like "10" which are now worth hundreds of thousands.
Maybe you can go the signature series ones for like $2k to $4k =)

I hate annual fees though! much rather pay more upfront and own the plate without yearly fees!sigpic

That's stupid how you have to pay a fee to keep your plate each yr. My friend in Sydney had hers stolen and she can't get them replaced. In Scotland they pay a huge fortune to have specific custom plates but I'm not sure about an annual fee. Oh, my 1st custom plates & my 1st brand new car & 1st car with leather.....all this is getting far too much for me!
