Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

easy. 50 offset and you wont even scrub. 8" is too skinny (in my humble opinion ) go 19x8.5 ET50 front and 19x10 ET50 rear hehehehehe

well i wouldnt recommend 19s but 18x10 would be doable. if you stretched 225/45/18 tyres over them, the effect would be similar to neil's wheels (the blue gti). you'd have about 15mm of poke from the rim, the tyres would sit under the guards and the wheel would be as close as possible to the suspension on the inside. note this is only at the rear! 8.5 is about the limit on the front, maybe 9 if you're game. you're welcome to come have a look at my car if you want, i've got 8.5" all round and you can check the clearances for yourself. pm me if you wanna check it out. unfortunately you'll have to come to me if you want to see it before the 19th of september lol.

You can actually fit 19 x 9.5 on the front with a +48 offset no problems with 235/35 rubber. Many have done it
