Seriously get it all checked out 1st.
I've done just over 97,000km, chipped from 35,000km. Clutch is still fine.
Like others have said, pedals break, slave cylinders leak. The clutch is probably the least likely part to wear out.

Like the others have said, it does sound like a pedal issue rather than clutch.

That said, in the clutch recommendations, I recently had the Stage 1 ECS kit fitted. Very happy with it as it is still similar to stock feel, but more progressive for a lack of better term. I wouldn't say it's spongy though.
No noise with the lightened fly wheel either.

Sorry no Diff only clutch kit,

        Here is the info.
        Website - http://www.eurospecsport.com/clutch.htm
        Kit - 2J4 198 SFL 15 BPD

I have no noise at all it super smooth, quiet and every single person that has ever driven my car since i have owned it. Comments they all want there cars to drive and change gears like mine.

Even ask Hitman, he drove mine and too wants his R32 to be able to change gears like my car.
I'm by no means blowing my own horn, It just really is that a good clutch system.

As for JustCruisin - Standard clutch on chip for that many kms, i feel you must have gotten a monday car which every one took pride in assembly. Hence the mileage on standard clutch,

Maybe it is a Monday car. I've not had any of the normal problems except water pump. But I feel I've had a few other problems though.

TSI2NV - just because you ugrade your clutch does not mean you are going to break the gearbox before the clutch.

People that cannot drive kill gearbox's it has generally nothing to do with the clutch unless no clutch is present.

HOLEIN1 - do what ever you like, but yeah first find out what caused your mishap and rectify that first.
Then you can look at the clutch kit.

The biggest culprit of the standard clutch combo is the DMF setup, if the clutch keeps slipping or get slips once to many the diaphram between the DMF burns and ultimately gets damaged then you have a flywheel spinning on a flywheel.

Personally the DMF idea is stupid cost more to develop and produce. But if you are intending to leave the car the way it was intended in the factory you should have very little problem running the standard clutch around at very least 150000km's.

well ive had some developments, well i think so anyway...

looks as if its just a pedal problem (fingers crossed) as there was a bit of random plastic and a metal tab that had broken off and fallen on the floor

hadnt noticed these before as it happened in the dark and didnt think to look!

ive got a few pics of what everything looks like, so if anyone has any experience with this problem let us know

the piston from the master cylinder looks to be ok (the thing with the ball on the end), but not sure whether this stuffed too or just the actual pedal and connecting mechanism

will have to call VW to see whether everything will need to be replaced or just a few bits

let us know what you think guys....

heres the two bits that have broken off, the smaller bit is metal...

              cheers dan

I think when that happens you're better off getting the metal bit welded back on , that way it ends up stronger than a new one.
