  • Coolant Replacement

Hey guys, i was wondering how to bleed all of the coolant from the radiator system from an 01' GTI so i can replace it. Is there another way other than just detaching the lower pipe connected to the radiator, bit of a messy job. And also, does anyone know the volume of the entire system, ie: how much coolant to make up?

    Coolant change

    Hi,

Last time I was under my car, if I remember correctly, I saw what looked like a tap or plug (can't quite remember...it was a while ago) in the bottom tank of the radiator. This is used to drain the system of coolant, just remember to undo the cap on the bottle first to let the air in.

I am sure you won't need to remove a radiator hose

    Hope this helps
