Bora 4MO Brake bleeding

Hi Guys,

I've just fitted a full set of mk4 R32 brakes to my Bora 4mo. I've bled the brakes but the pedal still has a fair bit of travel and feels spongy. I've noticed the MC has two bleed nipples on it which are bloody hard to get at!

Any tips for bleeding brakes on a 4mo set up? I started passenger rear and worked forward. I've read on some posts that you start at the front with the 4mo brakes?

Any help, links would be great.

cheers, no mention of the MC bleed nipples though.

Nope, did you need to do the vagcom step in regards to the abs?

I've not done the ABS step. I have VCDS so may well try it at the weekend. I'm going to use my vac bleeder to pull all the old fluid out (brake pedal depressed), bleed it all (front first) then try the ABS pump.

You need to bleed the MC first. Also try an output test of the ABS. I find that improves the pedal in my Polo and S3

While VW have their method, I am not 100% that you need to do any particular corner first. as each line is separate from the ABS I don't see that it matters. Just my opinion mind you.

Yeah, i've no idea why they define a sequence. I may as well follow one though.

Does the pedal appear to be firm after bleeding when the car is off, but as soon as the car is started it goes soft?
I had this problem, firing the abs and then 're bleeding all 4 corners fixed it.

That's exactly what it's like Dylan. I'll give the ABS pump a go. Is it fairly obvious within VCDS how to do it? I have the latest, genuine, ross tech version.

Let me know how you go. I've gone from 280 to 312 and now will be going 334mm r32 brakes
Keen to know if anything else has to be upgraded
