  • K04-001Turbo Upgrade Supporting Mods?

    Hi Guys,

    First time posting here.

I have a 2001 MK4 Golf GTI, recently purchased a K04-001 as my K03 is on its way out.

My question is, is there any required mods that need to be installed for the k04 to function properly or that go hand in hand?, for example will i need new turbo oil feed lines or can i use my k03 feed lines? obviously will be getting a custom TIP made but other than this do i need anything else?

I am going with REVO for the tune, after turbo is installed car will have following mods.

    K04 turbo
    Custom stainless steel TIP
    GFB Response BOV
    Cold air intake
    Upgraded SMIC
3" Downpipe with high flow cat
    4 bar Fuel reg
    ECS Dogbone Mount
    Catch can
    Revo tune

I have been advised with these mods i should qualify for a revo stage 2 tune.

Any ideas how much BHP i can expect?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!
    Cheers

    Advised by who?

Do Revo have a K04 tune off the shelf. Not too many can flash this ECU, lots still swap the chip.

250hp is a possibility at the crank from that turbo but you haven't gone far enough with the hardware.

You need a 3 inch MAF housing, Fuel pump and injectors.

I think a better solution is a K03s as that can be done with std injectors and MAF plus teh 4 BAR reg.

      Custom stainless Steel tip?? Why?

Just buy an oversized tip from the UK. BADGER 5 or r Tech sell them.

Revo themselves advised and also they do have a k04 file available for ecu tune.

No particular reason other than my mechanic telling me he can do it for me and that it would be more durable.
