Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Bora V5 O2 Sensor

    Hello all,
Just after some assistance with working out the required O2 Sensor's for 2001 Bora V5 (AQN), I am looking for both the Pre and Post CAT sensors.
I have being looking on ECSTuning for the parts but are not sure which is correct
    (ES#2539127)
    (ES#8367)
Are the above two the right ones? and if so which is Pre and Post?
    Thank's for your time
Edit: Any other suggestions of places to order such parts?

I have used CarPartsAustralia.com.au many years ago.
I was able to email them my VIN and they advised the correct part. Sensor was under $90 express post shipping about $10.

The GTI did not have a pre cat sensor, are you sure your Bora has 2 sensors ?

NTK Oxygen Sensor - OZA447-E32 - Express Post – Car Parts Australia
    MK4 GTI - Sold
    MK5 Jetta Turbo - Sold
    MK5 Jetta 2.Slow - Until it dies.

The VR5 is more likely to have two sensors because of it close relation to the VR6. I wouldn't buy engine related stuff for a V5 from ECS anyway - There are much better OEM aftermarket sellers based in Australia (Tooleys, Unique Auto Parts etc) and the VR5 models were never sold in the US.

ECS is great for suspension components and body parts tho.
