Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VW wreckers/parts shop and interior repairs in Melbourne for MkIV Bora

    Hi guys,

Longtime lurker. First time complainer! [emoji6]

My Bora is need of some love. Recently the fabric started coming away from the: "drivers side window strut" (see photo insert). I made the assessment applying a craft adhesive would fix it. *facepalm*

Now it looks like I have had a lonely night in the seat.

Second, I have been wanting to replace my dim rear view mirror. I had the defect model that the oil leaked (see photo insert).

Does anyone know any wreckers or interior lads who could assist my issues?

    Help me Obie won Kenobi!

    Tedd

Thanks for the heads up on this.

Went out there yesterday from the city. Man, it's out in the middle of no where. Lol

I got there and they had wrecked the exact same model as my BORA two days prior.

      Lol. I was guttered.

However the Red V5 was still there, so I was able to recover the quarter interior panel from that.

Plus I got a standard Golf Mirror in the interim and jigged the bracket for the autodimmer to fit.

Thank you though for identifying this place.

I have BORAs on the watch list now for a mirror [emoji41]

I highly recommend the wrecker too, very helpful chaps.

It happens to us all eventually - good to see you're getting things under control.
