Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Video: The MkIV Project Golf - How to build a budget dirt club racer

With 39 years of experience racing VW Golfs on the dirt & many state titles in my trophy cabinet (ok - on a shelf in the garage), I show step by step many of my secrets for setting up a hatchback for racing between the trees.

Keen to see how this goes. Weight plays such a big part in the smaller engine mk4s.
not sure how I feel about the washers behind the stub axle, but guess its not on the road.

Good stuff mate thank you for putting the video together and for sharing it here! Need more of this and less purely aesthetic builds! As Waterboy said too - would be very keen to see more of your other cars as well.

You do some great vids and really know your stuff when it comes to fabrication. I've enjoyed watching you build your buggy and house!!

                        Great to see you here

Thanks buddy. Glad to have something VW to post. Despite being a Honda nut these days I actually have worked on more Golfs before changing brands. The love of such German design excellence runs deep in my veins.

Started with the car build then moved on to the house build - amazing stuff! Great videos - really informative.
