  • Mk4 golf gti prices?

So I've been searching around looking to upgrade from my mk4 1.6 golf to a 1.8t gti but the prices of these are for some strange reason, reaching $7000 + with engines well over 200xxxkms and only minor mods (wheels and or coilovers)

Just hoping to get some opinions about this madness or am I the mad one :/

Wow really makes me want to wreck mine and take the $10,000 my insurance company thinks its worth
Also hard to justify fixing the AC too as that would be 80% of the price of some of those cheapies.
                    MK4 GTI - Sold
                    MK5 Jetta Turbo - Sold
                    MK5 Jetta 2.Slow - Until it dies.

$7k is drug money for a MK4, you can get into an S3 for that.

They can be found cheap at auction, but its a risk and i got lucky as my bravery outweighed my knowledge by about the power of 10 at the time i made the punt

If you are okay with bodywork there were quite a few hail damaged GTI's that went through. I got my 03 with 150,000 k's for 1100

Had a boost leak and a idle issue that took a while to fix (mainly because im still a noob). I would only do it if its money you can afford to lose

Mine is still in mint condition just clicked up 70,000 km on the weekend. At current prices I'll be sure to give her a good workover with a Sledge Hammer and Crowbar just prior to sale when the time comes, just to square the deal up
