Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Hi all. My GTI tyres need replacing all round. Currently running ContiPremium Contact 2 (205/55/r16)
    No complaints but if anyone has a suggestion on an affordable alternative I'm all ears. Not sure if there is a low pro option out there either?

    You probably couldc get away wil 205/45/16 but this would increase gap to arch and mIght look weird on 16's

      I am leaning toward a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 3's

        stick to stock rolling diameter on 16s,.
        could do a 205/55 or 225/50 if you find some cheaper and want some more grip.
        Kuhmos seem to be a good bang for buck tyre.
        I run Nankang NS20 daily and have no issues
