NZ New Market, never hd the R32 come with cruise control. Actually most of the mk4 range never came with cruise control.

Heck even NZ new MK4 golf with AGU engine did not come with Cruise control.

NZ and Australian spec cars are very different beasts most of the time.
Due to the different climate and looser regulations NZ seems to get much better spec (or original market spec) most of the time.
The NZ MkIVs R32s were full European spec as opposed to the bastardised US/European spec that we got.

fitted the cruise kit in about 2 and a half hours tonight lots and lots of fun as you can imagine (hardest part was removing the windscreen wiper assembly

went to bed at about 6:30 cos i was feeling sick

woke up about 3 hours ago couldnt get back to sleep and decided id go fit the damn thing!

            heres the piccys

            ooooh pretty green light

and after finishing that had to go to work at midnight because the driver couldnt run the truck in to the markets!

            tested this morning

works a charm! just like it was always there!

Perhaps they fitted cruise controls to Aus-spec cars as the country is much larger.

Awesome-GTI in the UK (www.awesome-gti.co.uk) supplies factory cruise control kits to most cars

yeah as hitman was saying we would like to figure out how and what parts are needed to get the AGU golf working with cruise control.

so if any of you guys with CC on your AGU GTI. Can you please take pics of Stalk and engine bay particularly the throttle body and also any additional units around the brake booster.

                      Thanks

I'm interested too, as my German-spec '00 GTI does not have CC, yet I've driven a US-spec. one that did have it.., and would love to fit a kit to mine.

Do I assume all the kits on ebay are for non-AGU cars??

Much easier on DBW cars as the ECU can open the throttle. I used to make the loom that goes to the ECU for a company in the UK. They were fitting them to VAG cars as an option when installing APR software.

I reckon there'll be a a fair bit of stuff to install on top of the loom and stalk.
