Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • QUESTION: doors need to be pushed in to open

hello , when unlocking the car, half of the time the passenger front and back door do not open from the outside even though the little door opening/closing pin has jumped up into the open position. then i need to give the door a good push near the lock , i can hear a little click and then the door opens.

does anyone know how to fix this?

    thank you very much

Sounds like the locks sticking. Try some wd40 first and lubricate the door seals too as they cN hold the doors shut.

thank you, i have tried WD40 already and it didnt fix it.
lubricate the doors seals might be good anyway, but the door needs to be pushed in from the outside.

i am wondering if i can just adjust the hock part of the lock which is mounted on the car body.
      needs some big star-shape screw-driver
