  • 4Motion coilpack (2001 Bora)

After weeks / months of putting up with misfires and abortive so-called repairs such as these http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3353695 , I sourced a coil pack from the US.

The preferred suppliers list of this forum lists Autotech parts as a supplier - however their price is US$394. I landed mine at my door for less than AU$300 (part was US$224, express postage US$46) from here: http://www.foreigncarpartsonline.com/

Really impressed, especially since the part at the dealer (here in Perth) was $1000-$1200 "Depending on which one it is" !

My part looks like the one on the vwvortex link - the coil for cylinder 6 just stopped working, along with savage misfires on some of the others.

The other coil pack part (from older cars?) is this one http://chris.quietlife.net/passat/coilpack.html

The above site has these too.

Cheers and I hope you guys can benefit!

Thanks for the Info Keith !!! Will come in helpful I am sure !!!

Is yours running like a beaut now ? I find mine has very slight hesitation when she's cold on very easy throttle so maybe I have a coilpack/maf/Throttlebody

Still a slight miss here and there - gotta get to pull the plugs out and check the leads also.
But I definitely don't miss the permanent misfire on #6 'tho !

By the way - what size do I need for the plugs, a slim 5/8 " or ?? metric size plug socket?

      Cheers,
      Keith
