OK well backing off from 100+ with a little bit of brake the steering wheel shakes something chronic and you can feel it in the car.. also brakes squeek.. lol.

should a new set of rotors and break pads fix my problem?

    thanks steve

yep it will just be exessive runout thats the problem (you might need front and rear discs depending on weather there bad and you may aswell replace the pads if the on the way out but you dont have to)
also just for my personal prefrence dont get the discs machined
    and
put some break squeak on the pads to get rid of the squeak

    chris.

      could be warped rotors?

same thing happened to my mk1 when i drove it hard. the rotors would warp after alot of heavy breaking. Nothing major but enough to cause vibration when breaking.

Have you tried machining the rotors if there is plenty of meat left on em? just shave em bit. not much but enough to make the surface flat.

      any ideas anyone???

discs are gone. replace them and the pads, its not recomended to use old pads with new disks. you might wanna have a look at www.dba.com.au they make very good discs. I had them on a previous car and i loved them

                    did he break his brakes?

If get DBA rotors, go slotted (not drilled and slotted)
