Bora 1J Ariel/Antenna Replacment

Hello all,
My 2001 Bora V5 1J headunit has being playing up since I bought it (a month ago).
After some research it turns out the top stub of the antenna had being broken, just curious if anyone else has expreinced this and know how to address it.

if the base is still ok. the whip part just unscrews from it.
order a replacement from Ebay or your local automotive/audio shop.

Toyota aerials are the same and cost a lot less than a VW version.
