  • Bora computer display problem

In my 2001 Bora I have the red computer display. At times, the first row seems feint and difficult to read. It seems worse when the weather is warmer or the car has been parked in the sun. All parts are working correctly. It's just feint.

Any ideas? I've only had the car 2 weeks so I don't know what it's like over summer.

Mine does the same on very hot days & is also a 2001. Would be interested in the fix though I suspect it will require an assembly swap out.

This is a common probelm on almost all Audi's with a digital display from about 98 to 2001, it is always worse in the heat but fine in the cold ...The audi's tend to just miss lines as time go's on so the display has lines threw it.

There is a fix for it floating around ebay and the ozaudi forums (do a search on DIS) it involves cleaning the connection or the pins behind the LCD screen.

Hey there is a guy advertising on ebay in the AUDI section doing the repairs now. 2 day turn around apparently. Looking at repairing them myself soon as well as coming up with the fix of swapping over Clusters without disturbing the immobilser. Eeprom swap over

Thanks - would be worth also considering installing an AUDI style DIS ie the blank upper half on the Boras which I think gives voltage and oil pressure readouts as well. Just a thought.
