Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Need ignition leads and coil pack?!

My car has recently decided to give me no power and smell like rotten eggs on me, so I think the spark plugs and ignition leads etc are stuffed!
I changed the spark plugs but the problem still exists! I really need help into where the hell to buy ignition leads! I have a 2001 vw bora V5 2.3l and it has the red ignition leads running over the top of the engine!
Please help find some or point me in the right direction for new leads and maybe coil pack, thanks!

same thing happened to me with my old v5, I replaced all 5 coil packs and it was fine.

Sometimes having the car properly diagnosed and repaired can save you a lot of money. Because, the mechanic with the right experience and the training wouldn't replace the parts that don't need replacing.
