FYI, the engine still has a badass lifter noise. Not as bad as you say it was but definitely noticeable until it warms up. Something i will look into when i have the timing chain and water pump done in the non too distant future. Hopefully i can sort it out witout taking the head off. I"ll also get the accessory belt and tensioner done while im at it.
I need to check to see if the difference between the R32 engine and mine to find out if it is stroke or bore related for the extra .6L capacity increase. I would consider fitting R32 pistons if it is bore related. Probably not cost effective if i have to fit different rods as well as pistons.

As i mentioned, i'll get some pictures up when the wheels come back. They are only cheapie 18's to keep me tied over till i can afford some custom made Simmons for it and are not really what most people on this forum would put on a VW but they are a start

Stay tuned(see what i did there? lol)!

      R32 is different!!
you would have to change pistons, conrods and have the engine bored out,
to be honest not worth the head ache. Easier if you were lucky enough to find and engine and ecu then do the fit. Audi TT v6 is the same engine as r32 the only small differences is pollution gear pipes and so forth possibly,
if memory serves me correct fuel rail lines differ also in the tt

Yeah, grtuned is right, R32 has increased bore and stroke.

I always daydreamed of going ballistic and getting one of these US$8000 3.6 litre conversions. Eurospec 3.6L VR6 ENGINE CONVERSIONS

Djorkboy has it goin mate? Still taking a peak at the forums! U thinking of ever buying another VW.
Mate your right about the 3.6 conversion never seen one installed in a bora or a golf here in OZ but pushing stock 220kw would make it a great car to drive. Throw on cams and a tune and it will be Just the right amount of power.

Yeah mate I still lurk around occasionally, would like to buy another VW eventually. Have looked at getting a mkvi gti maybe if my business keeps growing.

I still think the Bora v6 4motion is a future classic, it's the genesis of the R line and, in my opinion, better looking than any Golf since the mkii so it would be nice to pick up another Bora sometime in the next 5-10 years as a weekend plaything.

You should post up some pics of your satnav/steering wheel/dash to show caffeine what's possible...

can't go wrong with a gti nice ride. I agree with you regarding the bora it's a shame VW didn't make a v6 4motion jetta and at least continue the trend. Maybe you can buy mine in the future I think I'll be selling in a year might move on to an Audi S5 love the look of those cars. Sometimes I don't want to get rid of it as I've done so much and it's in great condition. Who knows???
But just like you need to keep the business growing and see how things pan out. Good to hear from you mate. Cheers.

So it took a while but i finally got the wheels back.
I was told i was getting a new set of rims but they just sent me back the same rims with a set of 5mm spacers on them and some new bolts. Very disappointed with the wheel shop and will never deal with them again. If anyone wants to know who they are, just ask.

Some photos of post H&R coilovers at the factory set ride height and then with the wheels fitted at the same height.

I'm getting some light scrubbing on the inside of the outer guard but only on medium to big hits. I had trouble getting the trolly jack under the front so i'm thinking that is low enough for the front end. I will likely take it down 10mm at the rear in the non too didtant future but i think it looks ok for now. Happy with the look for under $800 anyway and they will tie me over till i can afford some Simmons.

Also looking at purchasing some 5x130 Porsche adapters but need to get the calculator out to figure out how thick i need to go.

Anyway. Still have not done the headlight covers as i am too slack to pull the front bar off but it should happen over the next couple of weeks.

                    All good grtuned
Tis the nature of a forum lol.

Anyone know what cam options i have for the 2.8? Do the 3.2 camshafts fit?
Looking to have a head rebuilt so i can get rid of the annoying lifter problem and figure i might as well slap some camshafts in there while i'm at it.

The 3.2 are exactly the same. You'll need to buy Schrick cams. Around $1200 a pair.

Loving the look, sadly selling my V6 4Motion Sport buy still looking around as trying to make a case to keep my car.

I dream about modding it much like you have done with yours.

Coming from a 135i to the 4Motion I thought I was crazy but I really love the old school feel the car gives me each time I drive it.

                          Thanks Hennessy

This time around, i just wanted a car that was fine the way it is because i come from a long line of early Mazda RX's and 90's Jap imports. Those things are just poket book racers. The more money you throw at them, the better they become.

With the VW, i got many of the things that i would otherwise look to add to the above mentioned cars.

Now that my Mk3 VR6 is momentarily out of commission, the Bora is getting more K's on it but i forgot how much more relaxing it is in the 4Mo cabin.

My wife and I picked up a 2009 Subaru Liberty Heritage Wagon yesterday and must say the Bora is one damn solid ride but the driving position in the Subaru is far better. The usability for every day use goes to the Subaru but that solid feeling I love of the 4Motion.

                                Photo opportunity...

Needs lowering at the rear by about an inch. Can't go any lower at the front or i risk damaging the wheels(no big deal), body work or sump(very big deal) due to the 3rd world, pot hole laden NSW country roads.

Not much to report really other than i am working on the headlight lenses today. I removed the front bar thanks to a youtube video helping me out. Only took about 15 minutes

Headlights are out but i need my brother to bring me my heat gun so i can heat them up to get the lenses off. One of the previous owners looks like they had a lot of fun getting them off previously. Not wanting to mess them up any further so ill just wait for the heat gun to arrive tomorrow. Sikeflex type sealant is around here somewhere...

                                Pics...
