Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    2002 V6 4motion Bora

Background: I started off with a bone stock Bora - 16" stockies and lots of maintenance bits and pieces to do.
Within a couple of months I got the Rims and Lowered itch - so started with SPAX 30mm lowered springs + Bilstein Shocks and upgraded to some nice looking 17" Bora Sports. Later wanted the car a little lower; had the TA Technix in for around 6 months and plan on going lower once I fit some 18" rims.

    Things done so far….

    Wheels & Suspension
    TA Technix Coilovers
    17" Bora Sport Rims
Full Suspension Refresh - Nolathane, Superpro.

    Interior
    OEM Black Door Grab Handles
    6.2" Double Din Head Unit
OEM VW Bora Sport Floor Mats

    Exterior
    Lower Fog Grilles
    Stubby Antenna

    Things To Do
18" BBS LM (Reps or Genuine - Whatever fits the budget)
    Bonnet Respray
Adjustable Rear Control Arms (If the 18's+Lowered make crazy 4mo camber)
Spacers (If needed for new rims)

    Thanks for checking it out!

Finally got around to my head unit install and interior refurb!

The flaky, peeling 'soft touch' paint was starting to become a bit gross.

After a lot of scrubbing they came up a treat.

      1) Gave the interior pieces a wash with warm soapy water
      2) Doused in metholated spirits.
      3) Used a green scuff sponge with mentholated spirits to scrub the paint off.
      4) Gave it a wash and final rinse
      4) Dressed with TurtleWax Interior cleaner and buffed with a MF towel.

Head unit install wasn't too bad. For the price of the HU, really happy with its functionality (Fascia/Frame still yet to go in).

Saw a couple of guys running the lead through the arm rest. Preferred the ash tray as its not such an awkward place (no smoking in the bozza )

-1 for the horrible photography. 1/2 iPhone pictures, 1/2 bad attempts at DSLR use

Cheers! For the price i paid nothing really compared to the power/style of the V6 4mo.

Thankss! Really wanted to head out to the hinterland run as I love riding/driving those roads but found out today my wheel bearing is shot so waiting on that before any serious driving again. Will have to make it up to a Brissy Euro meet soon.
