My g/f, averages between 7.5 and 8.5ltrs per 100k's depending if shes being more spirited or not. She gets just over 600k's out of a tank, i think shes seen as good as 650. Thats un-chipped on 98octane bp ultimate. We get are chip tomorrow.

how does chipping the computer affect fuel economy?

Edit: My questions has been answered in another thread. However if anyone has any actuall figures for fuel economy with certain modifications please let us know. Mainly interested in figures for cars chipped and with bigger dump pipes.

My A3 did over 600 on a tank driving it from Melbourne to Adelaide, never seen that since due to driving round town all the time.

Fuel consumption varies so much with driving style, I don't reckon you could get definitive figures that would tie up with your own driving.

If you change up before 2500 revs then you'd not be using any boost to speak of and the consumption would be pretty good. Going over is going to use more juice.

35 MPG/8 per 100 should be easily achievable.

I get about the same (420km) out of the R. Anywhere from about 400-450km is about normal for me. I'm probably 80% urban driving though and I'm also not the lightest on the throttle away from the lights.
Can't wait to get a CAI to improve my fuel economy. At least I'm doing better than the Redbook 16.4L/100km they claim for urban driving.
I didn't exactly buy the car for the fuel economy though.

                          I get anywhere from 350 to 800. :\

With mostly suburban driving fairly sedately I can easily get 600 out of the tank.

I found car got better economy after being chipped and even better again after fitting a downpipe/few minor mods.

That might have something to do with it...

I've recently changed jobs and have noticed a fair change with mine. Last job was mainly freeway commuting to and from work eg 80-100 and the odd client visit, but now I am driving in highway/urban traffic both ways eg up to 60ish in peak hour shuffle for the same amount of time even though it's less distance.

I was getting around 540km / tank before and I filled up yesterday after 440odd. I also like to fang it, which often happens at lights or once i turn off the highway onto back streets going home I'll be interested to see what happens to average after another few tanks.

fanging it ftw! as has been said over and over, driving style, traffic/road conditions make a massive difference to fuel economy.

according to my cars puter I get anywhere between 8/100 - 14/100 depending on what im doing, where Im going...

I really dont car tho.. I have the bike if i want better fuel economy (although I fang that too!)

oh and Geoff... you'll have to come with me for another spin and tell me how it compares to yours *ie how much more I need to milk out pre K04* after the 7th... ECS CAI, Neuspeed Lower intercooler pipe and APR downpipe to be fitted.
