I tried to install LEDs in mine and when i put the second one in they both stopped working. I read on some other forum that one guys replaced his door harness and that fixed his number plate lights. I know my harness is worn cause the puddle light and the interior lights don't react when I open the drivers door. The door harness is a common issue for all mk4's.

The harness runs through the rubber grommet tube bit that you see when you open the door up. The mk4's (golf/jetta etc.) came out with a harness shorter than required and as a result the wires go bad overtime. I don't see why the license plate lights would be connected to the door harness in any way. With any luck yours is just a fuse though

ive flipped them both with the new and old ones im going to try the old globes today when i fit my roof racks but if that doesnt work ill have to go get some fusesOriginally posted by dylan8 View Postactually if I recall correctly it makes a difference which way you put the LEDs in. flip them around (both new and old)

yeah found out the cause is the new leds i put in, but everything is closed now so it will have to wait untill tomorrow, i dont know if its the parkers that are blowing the fuse aswell it blew the dash lights and me being the curious idiot put a brake light fuse to see if it was the problem and i killed another one so its either dash lights or a brake light.Originally posted by dylan8 View Postnot off the top of my head, but on the back of the fuse cover is a bit of a diagram, should be able to narrow it down to a few

late response but it was just the new leds that blew both the fuses that control parker lights and the brake light parkers! thanks guys!
