What a thread! It really portrays the passion a car enthusiast shows when going to buy a car and also the feelings they feel during the process. Good to see it ended up in great hands of a VW enthusiast. Previous two owners of this car couldn't care less about the bodywork or condition of the car as it needed a lot of TLC to bring it up to today's standards.

Such a bonus to have those goodies included with the car Luka. What are your plans? I know someone with a stock MK4 R32 exhaust system if you were interested in removing the 'not so good' one on there at the moment. Have you looked into why it is hanging down?

I was considering buying the car from Osman (seller) after a brief look at Muller & Muller @ Lakemba. Did you remove all the stickers on the back window? They weren't doing the car any favors and need to be removed

Best of luck with the restoration - keen to meet up and take a look as it progresses as I know Oli very well.

If you document the rest of your build with as many photos, I'll be watching it with popcorn in hand. Fingers crossed on the engine!

I am able to help you out with sorting out the seats Luka. Shoot me a PM as a mate of mine has spare complete Konig leather skins off his MKIV R32 in better condition. I was going to PM JedR32 about them because of issues with his drivers side bolster coming apart and thought these would be of great use to him also.

Hi guys

So it has been a few days, and all but 4 or so of the parts have arrived the rest will be picked up on tuesday from wollongong :/

The head is still at the machine shop. I've been at work the past few days, so i haven't had the time to go there. Hopefully will be ready to pick up on tuesday.

Now for some pictures!

The g12+ coolant 5L, Coolant bottle, Head gasket, rocker cover gasket, Fuel canister? not sure exactly what its called, or what its function is, a belt in better condition than my one (because why not?), and the little t-piece that was broken for the coolant/water lines.



Gearbox and diff oils, one fuel filter, two oil filters, thermostat, pipe, thermostat housing, and a few of those seals, LHS headlight washer cover, intake gaskets, and assortment of exhaust gaskets.

So whilst waiting for the head to come back, the lifters were cleaned and those other bits and pieces were also done.

So yeah, not much of a major step, but a little taste of whats to come, and an update of what parts have been received
