MK4 won't go in reverse gear...

Seems like my problems are never ending...

So car got RWC and Rego'd today, I took it for a spin and it was great (sometimes a little stiff getting into 1st from standing) but other than that, all good.

I get home and go to reverse into the garage... Gearbox will not go into reverse, all other gears are perfect except reverse.

I can get it pushed down and locked to the left but cannot push up into reverse.

The mechanic didn't pick this up when checking it over and all was fine before the drive.

Any help Guys would be great!

Check the selector rods, maybe they are binding on something, or not aligned etc.
Also does it go into reverse with engine off ?

Reading your other thread. You have had a bit of activity right near those selectors, battery and checking starter.
I reckon you may have bumped the selector rods.

Yea you were exactly right!

I accidentally knocked the fuse for my amp into the way of the selector rods and it lodged in the way of reverse.

I really need to stop getting in a fluster over these things and think logically lol!
